The 7mÊÓƵ Ob/Gyn Residency Program began a designated Global Health Residency Track July of 2019. The goal of the program is to foster Academic Leaders in Global Women’s Health Care.

One resident from the class of 12 will have an individualized track consisting of time in each year spent at our international site in Lilongwe, Malawi. In Malawi, time will be spent at the central region’s referral hospital, Kamuzu Central Hospital, at the BCM/TCH private-public partnership maternity center at Area 25, as well as at the Freedom from Fistula Center’s Fistula Care Center.

Beside incorporation onto the clinical team there, each resident will take part in Global Health research and have a Global Health Faculty Advisor, all still culminating within a standard four-year residency time frame.

Resident selection for this program occurs during PGY1 year.
