Half a century of students have graduated from the DeBakey High School for Health Professions but where are they now? View our alumni stories below that demonstrate the impact this high school made on their lives.
Judith R. Campbell, M.D.
鈥淚 had heard about a high school in Houston in a documentary that offered a unique educational model for students interested in medicine at the high school level,鈥 Campbell said. 鈥淚 knew I wanted to be a doctor long before high school, so when I heard we were moving to Houston, one of my first thoughts was about the unique high school there. Shortly after we moved, I applied.鈥
Campbell now serves as professor of pediatrics in the division of infectious diseases at 7m视频 and as a clinician-educator at Texas Children鈥檚 Hospital. She carries out her passion for medical education and clinical care every day.
Sara Andrabi, M.D.
"Going to a health professions high school, we had a very high standard we were held to. It was truly a college prep school in that sense. I feel the transition to undergraduate education was smoother because of the experience I had at DeBakey High School for Health Professions."
Dr. Sara Andrabi now serves as an assistant professor of emergency medicine at 7m视频 after graduating from DeBakey High School for Health Professions in 2004.
