By design, TRISH is a consortium of one of the nation’s leading medical colleges, 7mÊÓƵ, and two of the nation’s premier technology institutions, Caltech and MIT. Leaders from the consortium institutions serve on the Board of Directors and are represented by Institute Lead Scientists. These institutions lead scientific workshops for the space health community and TRISH supports research activities through seed grant programs. The Institute also works closely with .

As the Institute works to identify cutting-edge science and technology opportunities and invest in research to meet NASA Human Research Program (HRP)’s needs, working in close collaboration is a requirement. In addition to regular Institute operations, TRISH and HRP work together on the annual HRP Investigators’ Workshop.
