Preparing the Next Generation of Biomedical Researchers
The 7mÊÓƵ Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (BCM PREP) is funded by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences at the National Institute of Health. The BCM PREP prepares college graduates who are underrepresented in science and medicine to enter and succeed in rigorous biomedical Ph.D. programs.
This competitive 12-month program enrolls seven BCM PREP scholars on the first Monday of July and features:
- Paid mentored biomedical research at one of the nation's top institutions
- A molecular and cellular biology foundations course
- A BCM PREP Director’s course to train scholars in critical thinking and project management
- Professional Development workshops
- Graduate school application workshops
- Individual counseling for successful applications to rigorous Ph.D. programs
- Interaction with a vibrant community of more than 100 UR Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. students
